BUILDING SECURITY
CCTV & surveillance
Plan surveillance around the areas you need to observe: entry gates, lifts, parking, lobbies and common spaces. Camera placement and recording design work together to make footage useful when it is needed.

Installation & integration
- Review viewing angles, lighting conditions and coverage for the intended observation task.
- Design IP camera, network, PoE and NVR requirements for the site.
- Size recording storage against camera count, video settings and the requested retention period; commission playback and access permissions.
What it helps you do
- Improve visibility of agreed common areas with a documented camera layout.
- Provide a practical workflow to search, play back and export recordings.
- Give authorised operators access appropriate to their responsibilities.
HOW IT WORKS
From requirement to operation.
- 01
Survey coverage
Agree what each location needs to show, including night-time conditions.
- 02
Design recording
Match cameras, network capacity and storage to the recording requirement.
- 03
Verify handover
Check views, playback, time settings and authorised access before handover.
Questions about cctv & surveillance
How many days of footage can be stored?
Retention depends on camera count, resolution, frame rate, compression, recording schedule and usable storage. The proposal should size these together.
Can working cameras be retained?
Existing cameras may be reusable after checking condition, protocols, image quality and compatibility with the proposed recorder.
